Inspired by many a summer trip to Oakham, I spent a lot of my time bouncing between The Hornblower and The Lord Nelson, where I became acquainted with some rather unusual characters.
This piece is inspired by such great memories - the Oakham Ale bottle caps consist of a contrasting yellow rim which is exploited and made into a focal point in this artwork. Acrylic pointillism at the centre reflects the first attempt at combining the 3D, DIY appearance of the caps with that of a classic painting, which I am enjoying exploring.
